Do you like to be able to visit your doctor without worrying about
if you can afford to?
Do you take comfort from knowing that if you are involved in an
accident, there is an emergency service there, ready to treat
you?
Do you want your children to grow up in a country where their
health care is affordable and assured?
Do you want to grow old knowing that when you are ill you can
still afford to be cared for?
If you value all of these things and more, then don't you think
you should protect your health service?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Did you know that your government don't want the bother of running
a public health service?
They would like to abolish your National Health Service!
Did you know that your government are actively encouraging
modern health trusts to employ more managers than health care
staff? This is done (supposedly) to make health trusts manage
the service better, but it has the opposite effect. Instead
it makes hospitals and Primary Care Trusts top-heavy and expensive
to run (not to mention ineffective) - with too many conflicting
ideas (or no idea at all).
That's where all your National Insurance money is going!
On managers, not on nurses and doctors!
Ask yourself (or ask the health trusts), how many hospital
wards, clinics, day-care centres, etc., have closed recently
- despite there being more money and more patients). Ask them
how many trained midwives there are on duty at any time, and
how many expectant mothers those midwives are responsible for.
Then ask yourself - Is this safe?
Did you know that all the bad press the health service is receiving
today, is welcomed by your government?
They want an excuse to abolish your health service.
Did you know that your Labour government welcome any criticism
of the health service not meeting demands, despite this being
the direct result of their actions. They WANT to replace it
with a system that only treats those who can afford it! A system
they don't have to be responsible for!
Did you know that your government have private companies waiting
in the wings, ready to take over your health service at a moment's
notice?
Did you know that these companies (mostly American owned) would
(given the chance) take your health service and make it a PAID
service. This means that if you have the money (or can afford
the private insurance) you will be treated.
And if you don't.........
(just ask someone from America what happens over there if you
are involved in a road accident, and you're not carrying a Blue
Cross card).
These companies would turn your health service into the sort
of regime which they already operate in America. If you can
afford it, you get treated. And if you can't, you don't. Your
government aren't worried. They can all afford it. And you can
bet your sweet life they all have private health care deals
anyway!
Ask yourself:
What happens to those who are nearing the end of their working
years?
(those who have paid into the NHS all of their working lives)
What happens to those who are already struggling to make ends
meet?
Is that the sort of future you want for your children?
If not then support, or better still join, this campaign.
