The Gypsy encampment close to Desford Cross Roads at Rose Park has had the planning application to allow development of the site into a permanent Gypsy caravan site, refused by Blaby District Council. A stop order has also been issued to prevent any further development on this land.

Appeals have been lodged against both the stop order and the planning application refusal.

Residents that opposed this application initially, should have received two letters from Blaby District Council. One relates to the enforcement appeal (stop order) and one to the planning application.

Residents have until 6th January 2006 and 2nd of January 2006 respectively to respond with any further written observation to Blaby District Council by letter or email: planning@blaby.go.uk
