Another League game and this time a top of the table clash
with Leighton Buzzard. A win would see Forest go to the top
of the table.
It was never going to be easy with buzzard having a good home
record, but when we finally made it after (Leigh the water-boy
set his sat nav to Leighton Town and not the rugby grounds)
the expression on our faces was that the team was ready to play
rugby.
The first thirty minutes was pretty much all Forest, they controlled
the game. There was one moment of madness from Glyn Johnson
which almost saw Buzzards winger run unopposed. The last ten
minutes of the first half saw the set pieces even with Forest
owning the scrum time and Buzzard owning the line-out, both
teams canceling each other out with good defense.
Start of the second half was the much the same with Forest doing
the attacking and Buzzard trying to live off of Forests mistakes.
One minute to go Buzzard had the chance to equalize with a long
range penalty but they missed.
It was a very physical match and even the Buzzards supporters
agreed that the best team won!
A very bitterly cold day was made better by the win, BUT we
must remember: It is easy to get to the top of the the hard
part is staying there!!
